In a significant development for Quebec's retail industry, Brault & Martineau, along with its warehouse store EconoMax, bids farewell to the Quebec landscape. All the retail locations of these two chains are now operating under the Tanguay banner.
The familiar Brault & Martineau stores will be rebranded as Tanguay, while EconoMax will now be known as Tanguay L’Entrepôt.
This transformation represents a change in brand identity while maintaining the same ownership. The Tanguay stores remain under the ownership of Groupe BMTC, just like the two now-defunct chains. This rebranding has been in effect since Tuesday morning, redirecting visitors from the Brault & Martineau and EconoMax websites to the Tanguay site.
For Montreal residents seeking to furnish their homes, Tanguay now has a presence in the city with four locations. You can find a Tanguay store in LaSalle, near Carrefour Angrignon; in Kirkland, along Highway 40; and in Saint-Léonard, in close proximity to Highway 40. Additionally, the EconoMax in Pointe-aux-Trembles has transformed into Tanguay L’Entrepôt.
Prior to this rebranding, Brault & Martineau thrived in the furniture market in western Quebec, while Tanguay represented Groupe BMTC in the eastern part of the province. From today onwards, BMTC exclusively operates under the Tanguay brand across the entire province. This strategic decision is justified by the potential for expanding the Tanguay store network.
